Differences in the European, American and French Roulette

Even if roulette is considered the most prominent casino game, many players still do not have idea about the different versions of the game. Just like any other gambling game, roulette has variations. It is important that players know its variations before playing the game because the various versions of the game have different rules or mechanics. If players failed to identify the type of roulette that they are about to play, they may experience consequences such as losses.

Some of the differences in the European, American and french roulette are easy to identify. However, there are some that can only be determined if a player exerted enough effort to know every detail of the games. These three variations may have differences in the materials they use, rules as well as the efficient betting techniques. Hence, it is a must that players learn everything about these games.

The european roulette is the most popular of all. The European roulette wheel has 37 pockets that are colored red, black and green with numbers that range from 0 to 36. To participate in a game, players must purchase a chip. Players share the same color of chips which adds excitement to the game because they will be encouraged to memorize the amount of money they bet and the numbers or colors where they place their bets.

On the other hand, the American roulette can easily be identified because among the three, this is the only variation that has 38 colored pockets. Just like the European roulette wheel, the American roulette wheel has colors black, red and green. However, the numbers in the wheel range from 00 to 36. According to sources, the addition of the double zero digit increases the house edge of the game.

Lastly, the French roulette has similarities with the European roulette when it comes to the number of pockets in the wheel, but all the pockets in the French roulette wheel are colored red. In addition, the words in the roulette table of French roulette are all in French language. French roulette also applies some rules such as the La Partage rule.

Even if the three variations of roulette have distinct characteristics, all roulette players are assured that they will enjoy every game they played whether it is the European, American or French roulette. Again, they should always remember that each variation has a different set of rule and they must learn the different rules before they engage in a game.
